The third oldest children's museum in the nation, the Detroit Children's Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing diverse educational exhibits and activities to children and their families, encompassing sciences, world culture, history and the arts into its lively, child-pleasing collection. Featuring a popular planetarium and an array of educational activities, such as Native American drum circles, arts and crafts activities, interactive computer stations and a story-telling festival, the museum also lends engaging mobile exhibits to area schools, and hosts several child-friendly festivals, such as Mulitcultural Children's Day and the Festival of the Arts, throughout the year. Located in Detroit's cultural center, this inviting museum can be found just three blocks south of Fisher Theatre.
