Belle Isle Park is a 942-acre park, the largest city park in America, full of scenic walks and attractions ranging from a museum to a beach. Attractions at the park include a nature center, an 85-foot carillon tower, the Whitcomb Conservatory and Gardens, Detroit's only beach and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, which has the world's largest collection of model Great Lakes ships. Surrounded by the Detroit river, it is less than a 5-minute drive from downtown Detroit and sits right next to the Canadian border.
