The Detroit Institute of Arts has over 60,000 pieces of art ranging from classical to cutting-edge works. Collections include arts of Asia and the Islamic world, graphic arts, European art and African American art. The museum is located downtown near the Detroit Historical Museum, in the city's cultural center.
