The service is very uneven. I've had excellent service with a party of 30, and lousy service with a party of 2. I've tried many, many things on the menu, and all are excellent. Be sure to try the carnitas. Even the beef tongue is good!!

I am a person with a disability and use a wheelchair; I have a "Paws with a Cause" service dog. A gentle, kind, loving, caring, and highly trained dog. A beautiful black lab with a heart of gold & and puppy face. I went to Mi Pueblo to eat like everyone else, but I was treated like a human waste. The manager ran over to me and told me that they did not allow animals in their establishment. I explained that my dog was a service animal and that his rights were protected by United States Federal Laws, as well as Michigan Laws. He continued to harass and upset the entire group that I was with. I explained that if he was going to do business in the U.S.A he had to learn how to treat the customer & about the laws. I did notice that he got a bit upset when I said, hey you have lots of illegals working here and you went to tell me what's right & wrong. 1st get your own house in order before you try to impose your narrow views regarding people with disabilities in this country. I then wanted to leave, but my friends encouraged me to stay. I feared that they would do something to my food. By the way the food was nasty. Not just my food but my friends also said that they did not like it. I just have to say that if you have a disability maybe you should stay away from this place. And if you want to eat some good food just go someplace else. Taco Bell anyone. LOL

This has been my favorite lunchtime place since they opened. I have been to most of the Mexicantown eateries since working in the area. Los Calones, Xocie's, Mexican Village can't compare with the food quality, value for your money (large portions). They just don't have a bar, no big deal to me. Now on their third expansion, it's still crowded. DPD is always there also so it must be good. Staff is friendly and they know the regulars by name.
